Wednesday is book day!

I like to talk about fiber related books on Wednesday. These are simply books I like. I am not being sponsored or paid. :)

I saw this book advertised just a few weeks ago in one of my knitting magazines. I thought I had died and gone to heaven! When I received the book in the mail, I was sure I had!!

Do tell, you say? It is called,  The Fleece and Fiber Sourcebook, more than 200 fibers from animal to spun yarn, by Deborah Robson and Carol Ekarius, Storey Publishing, 2011.

"You must be kidding!" I thought! This book was written for me and this blog! It will absolutely be THE reference for every animal fiber we will discuss here.

This is an absolutley beautiful book! I have to say that the only problem I have with knitting is that I have less time to read. I adore books, the feel, the smell (I guess I do have a very developped sensual side! I think it's part and parcel of being a creative person). The book includes all the information that one could want on each animal, but then also includes amazing pictures of the animals, their wool, their fleece, the yarn and knitted swatches!

Sigh! I could lock myself away with this for hours. Christmas and my birthday all wrapped un into one! Amazing!!

Unfortunately, I didn't have this book when I began this blog. But, no matter. I will be looking up Merino to rectify any misinformation I may have given you!

Happy reading!

I love books when it's on a subject I like and it is broken down into information and photos. You are going to get lost in that book!
